#9

You starts to go to work on building Your new boat. You remove four of the rods from the foosball table, by breaking the little figures on them with Your hands. You feels bad for them almost, but knows that they cannot feel pain. That You knows of.

You's a strong farm boy, so You begin to twist the rods around each other and together to form a large “X” shape. You make sure the central overlap is small enough to be fitted on the rotating part of the motor. Almost as an afterthought, You remembers to attach the car battery to the motor; sure enough, once the fuel reaches it, the spinning bit starts working, and working at the rate You'll need. Then You fits the twisted rods on the bit. You wishes You had something to hold it on better, and You looks around. There is some duct tape. You snatches it up eagerly; there's nothing greater an amateur boat builder could have now. You also secures a fifth rod on the resulting contraption, which is now a laced-up mess of silver adhesive.

Taking a sixth rod (leaving two behind in total) You smashes a hole in the top of the table and make a pivot for the setup You just built. It looks rickety as all hell, but it's what You's got. You picks up the remaining two rods and wonders what You can do with them. However, You's suddenly struck with an idea. Taking one of the kitchen knives, You duct-tapes it to the end of the pole and thus acquire a spear. You could at least use it for fishing, though of course the general idea is one of defense.

Next comes the process of caulking up the table. That's not too difficult—it just takes a little while. You has to wait for it to dry, too, of course, but You has time.

After a few minutes, the caulk seems dry. It'll hold, for now. Slowly but surely, then, You drags the components up the steps and outside, to the bank of the river. You secures the fan to the body, and suddenly You has Your airboat. You wishes You could come up with a punny name for it outside of just “airboat”, and You also has a strange suspicion that turning a sports table into a vehicle has occurred...unnaturally recently. You is only briefly troubled, however, as with this sudden pulse of strange feelings, You remembers that Susie is in danger somewhere.

You pushes the makeshift ship into the water and, making sure to begin traveling in the right direction, You sets sail.
